We define a city through a grid of ‘outstanding’ monuments; sky is the aim, a simplistic way to forget what is on the ground; this singularity is civilization’s curse eternal; one has only to walk the forum in Rome; all must look up in the sky to reach for the vaults still hovering up there but what about the streets, where 99% of us are crawling up our own lives? no forum there, just a jumble of unfinished businesses, blood, our blood flowing street-wise.
