2012 was the year of the ever-changing experience. Journey's locales wore a different face for every participant who bared their soul in the desert. DayZ's opening hours of existential horror soon evolved as experience was gained, where "Who's shooting in Cherno?" turned to knowing what, where, how and who - down to the caliber of the shot fired - was firing that weapon. If 2012 was the year of the ever-changing personal experience, returning to Dark Souls was a bittersweet knife to the heart.
Toying with the feeling that there was still something interesting to be said on Miyazaki’s creation - a topic likely as worn now as the world that lives on the contours etched into Dark Souls’ disk - this is an examination of the curse of Dark Souls' second-time experience.
This is my Ode to Lordran.
