In this world there were only a couple rules: The first was that everything could kill you. The second was that you did whatever it took to survive. The third was that nobody survived by accident.’

Two years have passed since the world ended in a fiery downpour of meteors. But although everything they once knew is gone forever, humans live on. Emil is one of those people, part of a small community of survivors in northern California. On the surface the community is peaceful, but Emil has learned the hard way that not everything is always as it seems. Trusting his instincts, he sets out on a cross-country journey with four other survivors to find his family back on the east coast. In this shattered world the odds of survival are all stacked against them though, and it’s going to take more than luck to stay alive.
