Many of the 35 images that appear in this issue were published in earlier issues of Plate Magazine By grouping these photographs in sets of four, arranged 2x2, they take on a new aspect and a new scale. New patterns of color and theme develop between the images. And the grouping fills a wall. Each individual picture is life-size. A single plate picture is 10 ½" square. The sequence of four plates of the same meal is 21 ¾" square and mattes to 27" square. The four of the images together produce a grouping that is 58" square. Grouping nine images, arranged 3x3, have an even larger presence. At 90" square, they command a room.
