Mythological Studies Journal (Volume IX) 2021

The 2021 Edition of the Mythological Studies Journal features reflections upon gender roles in cultures that transition from one locale to another, the wonder of bubbling waters, the torture of the underworld in film and myth, and more. Introducing something new to this year’s journal, we have chosen a singular work as the “showcase” submission: in “Sacrificial Space: The Tree of Life as the Genius Loci for Ritual Sacrifice,” contributor James Peters guides us through a mythological meditation upon the primeval forest and the ubiquitous Tree of Life.
