This book is a record of a 3 month, 12,000 mile trip that my wife and I made crossing America twice; first driving on northern roads and returning through the south and southwest. We wanted to see and savor all of what America was, is, and is currently becoming; naturally, geographically, geologically, ecologically, zoologically, economically, historically, ethnically, culturally, gastronomically and politically. That vast stretch of America is often called “Flyover Country,” and having flown over it several dozen times we were determined to see it from the ground up.It is accompanied by many beautiful photographs that I took along the way.

An unsolicited review is here: Great read. Intelligent, wise, funny, informative, soulful. Very taken by your images this time around. Writing is terrific. Obviously a different perspective than when you started your blog 3 yrs. ago. Always enjoy your Dada-ist perceptions. I think it’s your best book so far.
