Night Sea Shawl

This delicate asymmetrical garter stitch shawl with shallow lace edging is fun to knit and its size is completely adjustable depending on how much yarn you use. It’s worked in one piece and its lace edging emerges as you knit it. There is no need to knit a separate edging.

The design itself is pretty minimal with loads of garter stitch but it also has little waves and lace “ripples” at its edge just like a calm night sea.

The shawl was made from almost one entire skein of Malabrigo Sock yarn in the colorway Persia. This shade has an interesting self-striping effect. Any sock or fingering weight yarn can be substituted.

The difficulty level of this pattern is Advanced Beginner.
