In the summer of 2012, I gave myself an assignment to photograph along a one-hundred-foot section of the shore of Lake Superior. I set limits of staying wtihin the boundaries of that length of shoreline and within 10 feet of where the water met the land.
I wanted to force myself to see what I could find through the lens of my camera in that small area and over the course of a couple of weeks, in varying weather and times of day, I discovered a lot about how we see and what works as a photograph.
