Conservation efforts and issues in Alaska. Trying to unravel all the issues that come with conserving a massive and wild place like Alaska takes a different kind of understanding. The past, present and future must be considered. Traditionally Alaskans have survived off the natural resources that occur here so continuing to protect those renewable natural resources while stemming the tide of human pressures is where the current fight lies.

Alaska’s conservationists and researchers want to educate the public about the unique and wonderful beings and places that are here. Through education they ultimately want to instil a sense of ownership. It is an uphill battle that is racing against time but there are victories alongside the defeats. It is our ultimate job to care for this place, if we care for the land, it will care for us.
