The Nutmeg Steel Company was a foundry in Connecticut that created steel castings from wooden patterns for industries. When it closed, artist Susan Farricielli salvaged some of the wooden patterns and made sculptures of them. The book tells a brief story about Nutmeg Steel: the factory, her work and an installation she did for the Plainville Public Library.
