If you were to judge this month’s issue of Photo Synthesis by its cover, you might correctly conclude that it will begin with nature and end with a few urban images. Trying to capture the beauty and diversity of nature is most definitely my favorite photographic activity, but I also enjoy the challenges presented by architecture, machinery, and other human-made features of our world.

This being the November issue you might expect to see a bit of fall color here, and if so you won’t be disappointed. All of the pictures in this issue were taken between the first day of October and the second day of November.

I’m making some minor changes to the layout of this issue in an effort to make it more balanced and pleasing, and to allow me to include some larger images.
