I have never been interested in fashion and have never read glossy magazines. She wore what she liked, dyed her hair in bright colors and was pleased with her appearance. I found out about “trends” very simply - when the concentration of a certain style, or color or type of clothing on the street increased to the critical mark “on every counter”. My memory is as reliable as a sieve, so now I am rather vaguely reminded of hellish fuchsia, heel-length down jackets and scarves of the same record length, shoes with “oriental night” toes, country-style blouses with lantern sleeves trimmed with spandex around the waist, which create the illusion of having a breast. And it’s not enough that you can still remember.
