Unsettled Geographies

  • Details
  • Description

Unsettled Geographies is a covid-19 pandemic project by lens-based artist Morgain Bailey.

After moving to northeastern Maine in December of 2020, she became curious about the closed geopolitical border.

This project documents the border terrain, including the border posts and the un-crossable crossing stations. She was drawn to the architecture, colors, memorials, horizons, cultural debris, parked cars and repeating shapes found in the landscape, all of which became part of this unique project about the environment of the northeastern corner of the United States.
