Artist’s Statement

I started making art to remind me of the wonderful places I had the pleasure of visiting. After sharing these images, I saw the effect they can have on others. This ignited me to inspire others to make their own memories through travel and to bring these places to those who are unable to witness them in person.

I prefer to make images of the natural landscape that convey its enormity and expanse. My images must also capture and keep the interest of the viewer, inviting them in. I attempt to create images that remind me of the first time that I set foot to dirt in a particular place. I want to share the moment I stood in awe as it took my breath away, caused me to pause, or made me smile uncontrollably.

Sometimes with color, sometimes with composition, sometimes by leading viewers into a place that they have never been, I strive to make images that invoke emotion. I hope to capture those special moments in time when the atmosphere is alive and breathing heavy.
