James J. Szczur (JamesJSzczur01200)

James J. Szczur (Professor Jim) grew up in Norristown, Pennsylvania, and currently resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with his wife, LaDonna. His 40-year professional career has been in the realm of technical leadership, systems engineering and project management in the military-aerospace industry to include serving 20 years as an officer in the United States Air Force. An adventurist and a scholar at heart, he is drawn to making the most of any opportunity. Professor Jim earned five masters degrees and teaches Electrical Engineering at the Colorado Springs campus of Colorado Technical University. Professor Jim has traveled to 39 of the 50 United States and to 25 foreign countries to include regions of North and South America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East. Out of the 29 U.S. National Parks (NP) he has visited, his favorites are Petrified Forrest NP Arizona (home of Newspaper Rock), Arches NP Utah (Ute Indian Petroglyphs), and Dinosaur NP Colorado (amazing dinosaur artifacts), each a national treasure preserving ancient Native American and wildlife artifacts. He particularly enjoyed wallaby and kangaroo field research in central Australia in 2012. Now, Professor Jim takes advantage of a fleeting opportunity to research pronghorn in his own neighborhood in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He magnificently assembles and richly-illustrates a literary presentation of cognitive, emotional and spiritual impressions encountered during this not-so-far-from-home wilderness pronghorn adventure.
