MARE ISLAND IN TRANSITION

A catalog of images, mostly of pictures side by side in duet form, recording the buildings of Mare Island, Vallejo, California, as they are during the time of transition from Naval and ship facility to recreational, housing, industrial use, medical school and more. A record of some of the buildings and incidental landscapes on Mare Island and the baby steps in their evolution or demolition as seen by a photographer who is not necessarily an expert witness to what went on during the wars: the Civil War through the Cold War.
