In the spirit of doing it different, we’re spotlighting some artists who are doing just that. They’ve got silk and they’ve got dye, but they’re pushing the envelope. Asher Katz, owner of Jacquard Products offers stretched silks – that don’t look like they’re stretched. We display the illusion of crumpled silk through some of his works and find out a little about what led him into the business of selling and developing products fiber products. Pamela Glose works the illusion with her ethereal layered silk canvases. While the Maryland/D.C. Chapter of SPIN encourages new silk painters.
