During 2012 a group of Civil War reenactors spent three days retracing the route of Colonel Ulric Dahlgren's abortive raid on Richmond, Va. Their goals were to free Union prisoners from Confederate prisons inthe city and, if possible, capture or kill Confederate President Jefferson Davis and members of his Cabinet. The reenactment over large swaths of Goochland County, Va became, in the words of one wag, "the biggest thing in Goochland County" in years. This 140-page book of photos and miscellany from the reenactment is designed as a memento for the participants but may prove of interest to any Civil War reenactors.
