Relations

In this series I observe and document, as well as casually interrupt, the everyday interaction of families. In doing so I draw a comparison of family dynamics amongst the families photographed, depicting those dynamics primarily through the use of space within a household and the direction and intent of gaze. The inspiration for this show was the changing dynamics of my own family at home and creating this project has allowed me to reflect on the nature of family structure. I would like viewers to look for the relations between the photographs and allow this small sampling of family dynamics to inspire reflection on their own definition of family. The photographs included in the book are a mix of digital and 35mm film.
