Plate Magazine #8 - The Chopsticks Issue

It’s the chopsticks issue, so I was going to write about chopsticks: how they are different than knives and forks. A knife and fork are tools and always remain tools. Chopsticks are long fingers. They become an extension of the body. You can pickup individual pieces with a precision even greater than your fingers. It’s the March issue, so I was going to write about the impending spring: daffodils poking their nose out of the soil, snowdrops in bloom, one purple crocus in bloom. It’s the food, so I was going to write about food. But, it’s really about the pictures. Look at the pictures! Look at the pictures!
