Around this time of year in Seattle, we become desperate to see the sun. A slighly less gray evening — or perhaps by some miracle a bit of sun — causes crazed, massive early exoduses from downtown offices. Those days are the exception, though. We’ve been known to have precipitation for nearly forty days and forty nights at a stretch. Even when it’s not raining, the sky is usually a featureless expanse of gray.

Anything we can do to beat back the gray is a good thing. Here, then, is a blow against the gray: a bit of sun for the middle of winter, wherever you are.
