East of Broadway - Dan Ziskie

This project began with a trip I made to China in 2005. I returned to New York City and have been visiting the East Broadway section of Manhattan’s Chinatown ever since. East Broadway is a small, less visited section of Chinatown. Many of it’s residents are recent arrivals from the southeastern Chinese province of Fujian. This is the end of one journey, trying to get here, and the beginning of another, staying here and becoming an American. This is, then, a true American story, with a Chinese twist.
